Do you love to dance, but can't stay up late enough to enjoy the music?

Do you hate to workout? This may be the answer for you!!

New Dance/Fitness Class coming to Burnsville! The Ballroom club in Burnsville will be the home studio for this unique class called Let’s Dance happy Hour. This new class will come to life on O1, 2015 at 5:40PM for 6 dance sessions.

The mission of the class is to bring together dance (love it) fitness (not so much) and some great music (YES!). The class is the brainchild of Kathy Kacher Dunham who loved to get out on the dance floor with friends, but found that waiting until 9:30PM to do it was not as fun as it was 20 years ago.

“Some of my best memories are going out with friends and dancing the night away,” said Kathy, “I miss it, but not enough to wait for the live music to start. I have been talking with friends about organizing a class like this for several years and all of them loved the idea!’

When the Ballroom Club opened up down the road from Kathy and she reconnected with a wonderful dance/fitness instructor she decided the time was right. Brianna Nelson, dance leader, and Kathy put their heads together to come up with a unique program that would feel more like a party and less like a workout.

Brianna brings many years of expertise from the professional dance world. She will be combining her passion and knowledge of dance along with her experience as a yoga sculpt teacher; to create the perfect “un-workout workout”.
This is how the class will work:

  • A total of 6, 1-hour classes will take place on Mondays at the Ballroom Club in Burnsville at 5:40PM (nice and early!)
  • Instructor Brianna has created choreography to the song Lady Marmalade that the class will master over the 6 sessions.
  • The Saturday after the last session, those who care to, will meet at Venue13 to dance the night away with Loose Cannon, who will be playing “our song” so class participants can take over the dance floor with their fun, new moves.

“Kathy has created a vision; to bring women that want to workout, dance, and have fun together. It’s kind of like taking a group fitness class but without the pressure of fancy gym memberships”, said Brianna. “The clients can let go, and dance with vulnerability in a “safe” environment. No judgment, no comparisons, just fun.”

This will be the first of what will be many classes offered, each class will be adapted and customized based on feedback from the first group. “This will be a learning experience,” said Kathy, “with each class we complete we will create new and unique ways to put some fun into fitness.”
