Dozens Of Dead Cats Found At Woman's Dakota County Home: Cops
Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom said the 25-year-old woman was arrested but has since been released from custody.
FARMINGTON, MN — A 25-year-old woman was arrested this week after a number of dead animals were found at her home, according to authorities. On May 9 sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant on Caycee Lynn Bregel's rural rental home near Farmington and found dozens of dead cats and numerous live cats and several other animals on the property, police said.
Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that Bregel will not be charged Friday, however, and said she has been released from custody.
"We take claims of animal abuse very seriously," Backstrom said in a statement. "Further investigation is needed to determine the cause of these cats’ deaths and who is responsible."
