Newcomer Ernie's Wins People's Choice at 'Bite of Burnsville'
Ernie's Pub & Grille was honored with the Silver Fork Award after just six months of existence.
Victory has never tasted quite so sweet for the staff at Ernie's.
The pub and grill won the people's choice award — the Silver Fork — at Bite of Burnsville on Thursday. Brackett’s Crossing of Lakeville won the Silver Spoon Award.
It was quite an honor for owners John Pleschourt and Bryan Prettyman, who at the old Chateau Lamothe location in October of 2011 — a mere six months ago.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you! To all of our fans, friends and family that have supported us!" The two wrote on Ernie's facebook page. "Tonight, our hard work is validated in a vote by the people in attendance at the Bite of Burnsville!"
Ernie's was one of over 20 restaurants featured in the Burnsville Chamber of Commerce's annual fundraiser said President Daron Van Helden, who said that the event enjoyed more restaurant participation than last year thanks to new establishments like , and Burger Jones. It is hoped that attendance figures grew proportionately as well. In the days leading up to Bite, Van Helden estimated a 20 percent increase in head count.

"We have seen a little bit of an up tick the last couple of years. I think the venue (the ) helps that a bit," Van Helden said. "It has put some new life and energy into the whole event."
