About the 5-2-1-0 Program: From June 9 - July 6, 2013, Valley Natural Foods will sponsor the 5-2-1-0 Challenge for its young, elementary-school age shoppers.5-2-1-0 is an initiative recommended by the American Academy of Pediatricians that seeks to help kids live a healthy lifestyle through the program's 4 themes. The co-op is offering many fun, free educational activities, coupons and 5-2-1-0 Progress Charts. The program asks kids to do four simple things each day: eat five fruits or vegetables, limit screen time to two hours (applies to television, computers, video games, etc.) get one hour or more of physical activity and drink zero sugar-sweetened beverages. Be sure to attend the Radio Disney Kickoff! June 9th 11:30-1:30 p.m. on Valley Natural Foods' front lawn. No registration required. Stop by the Wellness department every week, starting June 9th to get your progress charts, coupons and information on each week's themes. Turn in your completed 5-2-1-0 Progress Chart to the wellness department from July 7-11 to receive a prize and be entered to win one of two family passes to the Minnesota Zoo (valued at $77 each). A random drawing will take place on July 12.
