Ex-Viking Matt Birk Creating Catholic School In Burnsville
Matt Birk, who played with the Minnesota Vikings before winning a Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens, is opening the school this fall.

BURNSVILLE, MN — Former NFL center Matt Birk — a father of eight children — will start up his own Catholic high school this fall in Burnsville. "Unity" will be located at Mary, Mother of the Church and focus on both liberal arts and life skills.
Birk, a Harvard University graduate and Saint Paul native, played with the Minnesota Vikings before winning a Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens. Now, the Mendota Heights resident says the current education options find him wanting.
"I just kind of felt a little bit unsatisfied with education, with our system, for a long time," Birk told the Star Tribune.
