Matt had six catches for 73 yards in last week’s loss. He’s averaging 16 yards per catch this season.

-- Dan Motl (Burnsville – quarterback)

Coach Tyler Krebs said the senior, who didn’t play last year, has developed into a big play guy that is a threat to score whenever he touches the ball. In addition to throwing for 74 yards, Motl ran for a 52-yard score in the fourth quarter to ice last week’s win at Bloomington Kennedy. He also made a 27-yard field goal, kicked an extra point and ran for a 2-point conversion. Dan is also an outstanding baseball player.

-- Chase Roullier (Burnsville – offensive line/defensive line)

Already a stud on the offensive line, Roullier took about 25 snaps on the defensive side of the ball last week. Krebs said he had two sacks and a couple of tackles for a loss.

LAKERS WIN IF...

They are better on third down than the 2-for-11 they were last week against Rosemount. Prior Lake needs to reestablish a running game that was held to just 39 yards last week, but had been putting up good numbers in the previous two games.

BLAZE WINS IF...

If the team continues to make the plays needed to win, something that happened last week at Kennedy, but wasn’t a constant in the season’s first two weeks.”There is still a lot of work to do and the kids need to continue to believe,” Krebs said. The Burnsville defense needs to make a couple of early stops to gain confidence in stopping the running and passing threat of the Lakers offense.
