Hundreds Show Up to 'Walk for Animals'

Hundreds of pets and owners came out for the Walk for Animals, hosted by the Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley.

Golden Valley was full of fur and fun Saturday morning as hundreds of people participated in the Walk for Animals. The annual fundraiser helps the Animal Humane Society provide services to animals in need.

Pet owner Carrie Orr raised $6800 for the cause and then dolled up her dog in a cowboy outfit for the walk. "I come up with a different theme each year, just for something fun," she said. "This is a cause I really believe in and I'm happy to be here."

Orr was joined by hundreds of other pet owners. From greyhounds to guinea pigs, all sorts of four legged creatures were strutting their stuff through Theodore Wirth Park.
