Greetings, Vineyard Community Services would like to invite Burnsvillians to an outreach event as part of the "I Love Burnsville" / acts of kindness and compassion week. We have an activity planned for this Saturday the 8th from 11am to 3pm to sort 49,000 pounts of non-perishable foods into various food groups for boxing and palletizing to store in our warehouse. The dry goods are the food products gathered by the US Post Office from Burnsville and Apple Valley in their recent food drive during May. This will provide 6-8 weeks of non-perishable foods to the 8,100 people we serve each month.
This is also an opportunity for us to come together and get to know each other as we work together! We are planning to have sorting stations in our west parking lot next to the two container trailers. This activity can be for individuals, families or small groups. We will move cans and cereal boxes from unsorted totes/bins to boxes and eventually on to pallets. Lunch (free) will be served consisting of hamburger, hot dogs and brats with all the fixings.
This will be a fun time for all and part of our aid to those in need. So, please join us this coming Saturday June 8th; we look forward to seeing you there! Blessings, Brian
