You've probably heard of Oscar, and almost everyone knows what an Emmy is. But if you're not an avid pool fan, you've probably never heard of Charlie.
But a group of Minnesota youth pool players got up close and personal with Charlie in late June at VNEA Junior Internationals in Michigan. In fact Minnesota kids brought home more than half of the coveted trophies that were given out for the top finishers in each division of the tournament.
And a good number of those Charlies went to players from the youth pool league at Shooters Billiards in Burnsville.
Hailey and Ashley Fullerton each won individual trophies, taking third and fourth respectively in the Youth Female Singles division, and teamed with Ethan Laughlin to form the Shooters Black team that finished fourth in Youth Team competition.
The Shooters Blue team of Jacob Cole, Neil Cole, Casey Murnan and Luke Larson took fifth/sixth in the Youth Team Division.
The Shooters youth league is coached by June Maiers and is affiliated with Bloomington-based vendor American Amusement Arcades.
