Mold Destroys Burnsville Family's Home, Health
Mold not found during the inspection of a Burnsville family's home has made their life a nightmare.
Mold that wasn't discovered until after they moved in has made living in their new home a nightmare for Army and Iraq War veteran David Rosc and his wife Kim. The mold began causing health problems shortly after couple and their children moved in.
In May, Kim started having headaches, sinus issues, joint pain, and a racing heart. "I was in and out of the hospital with severe sinus issues and they didn't know what was wrong with me," Kim told KSTP.
Their 3-year-old daughter, Alivia, was having seizures and their five-year-old son, Chase, experienced headaches and said his "brain hurt." The couple's newborn son, Hunter, needed chest compression at birth due to respiratory distress, according to the couple's GoFundMe page.

Kim began to speculate that the source of the problems could be mold, and the family decided to move out of their home. The Roscs say their health issues were confirmed to be mold-related by a doctor, who told them they should not live in their house.
The case was brought to arbitration and the Rosc's lost. David and Kim say they are now responsible for paying for mold remediation at an estimated cost of $125,000 along with lawyer fees (around $30,000) and the cost of renting a temporary home.
