Burnsville Mayor Elizabeth Kautz recently met with President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence at a conference.
On Dec. 15, officials from the United States Conference of Mayors, including Burnsville Mayor Elizabeth Kautz, met with President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence in New York City. During the meeting, the bipartisan delegation discussed priorities for local government such as infrastructure investment and public safety.
"We had a very positive, wide-ranging discussion with President-elect Trump today, and we appreciate his strong desire to work with the nation’s mayors on shared priorities that can strengthen America’s metro economies," Conference of Mayors President Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett said in a statement.
Almost 300 mayors will convene in Washington, DC for the 85th Winter Meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors on the eve of the Presidential Inauguration, according to a news release. The Trump Administration has been invited to send top-level appointees from both the White House and federal agencies to engage with the mayors at the winter meeting.
