Santa Claus to Attend Burnsville's Winter Lighting Ceremony
More than 200,000 lights, 230 streetlight snowflakes, and a 30-foot-tall tree will come to life during the annual Winter Lighting Ceremony.
More than 200,000 lights, 230 streetlight snowflakes and a 30-foot-tall tree will come to life during the community’s annual Winter Lighting Ceremony. The event is taking place Wednesday, Nov. 23 from 6 to 6:45 p.m. at Nicollet Commons Park (12550 Nicollet Ave., Burnsville).
Jo Jo’s Rise & Wine will provide coffee, the Original Pancake House will provide hot chocolate, Chianti Grill will provide fresh baked cookies, Cub Foods will provide candy canes, and Chick-fil-A will provide hot sandwiches – all complimentary, according to a news release. Colorful, LED pins will also be for sale at the event. Proceeds will support the Winter Lighting Event.
Free parking is available at the Heart of the City Park and Ride Ramp located one block north of Burnsville Parkway on Pillsbury Avenue and in the Heart of the City Parking Deck located north of the Ames Center.
The ceremony will include a special appearance by Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus as well as entertainment by the Burnsville High School Freestyle Singers and the Sioux Trail Elementary Choir.

The Winter Lighting Ceremony is sponsored and paid for by the Burnsville Community Foundation through generous donations from area businesses and residents.
