Volunteers Needed for Storm Drain Stenciling in Burnsville

Volunteers will stencil "Dump No Waste, Drains to Lake" by neighborhood storm drains.

The city of Burnsville is looking for residents who want to help protect the region's waterways.

Volunteers are needed to stencil "Dump No Waste, Drains to Lake" by neighborhood storm drains.

This helps remind people that storm drains connect directly to lakes, rivers and wetlands without being treated. The equipment will be provided by the city, according to a news release.

Most stenciling projects will take a few hours. You will be matched with an area in need of stenciling in a high priority watershed.

Projects will also often include handing out fliers to residents in the neighborhood that explain what the stencils are all about and what people can do to improve water quality.
