1. Cambridge's Highway 95 Construction Wraps Up First Phase (wjon.com) — Highway 95 through Cambridge is set to fully reopen to traffic on October 8 as the first season of a two-year reconstruction project wraps up. Work will resume in spring 2027 on the remaining segment west of Main Street, bringing another detour, and an all-way stop will control Fern and Dellwood until new signals arrive in December.
2. Anoka-Ramsey Opens Applications for New Dental-Assisting Program Aimed at Regional Workforce Shortage (town.news) — A new accredited dental-assisting program is launching at Anoka-Ramsey's Cambridge campus in spring 2027, with applications open until October 19. Designed in response to a shortage of trained dental assistants in Cambridge and nearby communities, the three-semester program offers stackable credentials, hands-on training in a new clinic, and an October 1 information event at the campus.
3. Lowman reaches win milestone for C-I girls tennis (hometownsource.com) — Cambridge-Isanti senior Anya Lowman just earned her 100th career tennis win while leading the Bluejackets through a busy stretch of conference play. The roundup also highlights strong showings by Cambridge-Isanti cross country, soccer, swimming, volleyball, plus Cambridge Christian teams, giving local fans a snapshot of how their hometown athletes are performing.
4. 7 noncitizens accused of illegally voting in Minnesota elections (kstp.com) — Federal prosecutors have indicted seven noncitizens for allegedly falsely claiming U.S. citizenship to register to vote in Minnesota, with most also accused of voting in the 2024 election. One defendant lives in Cambridge and separately faces Isanti County charges tied to ballots cast in 2022 and 2024, with a plea hearing scheduled for Oct. 7.
