Genesis Scott

Hello again readers, Genesis Scott here, one of your 2018-2019 Eagan Funfest Ambassadors bringing you my last blog article of the year.

To say the past year has been a blast doesn’t even seem like enough.

I entered candidacy for the second time last year. I was so honored to have another shot at becoming an Ambassador. Since I had run for Ambassador the previous year I felt more confident and I felt better about what was going on and what was expected of me. I went into it with the mindset of, “I will not quit! I can do hard things!” When my name was called I was overjoyed! My perseverance had paid off.

If you are in a similar situation I want you to remember one of my favorite quotes:

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.” –Winston Churchill.

Back to my year in review, I was told by many that my reign would go by so fast and they weren’t kidding.

Over the last year my fellow crown sisters and I have been to many volunteer events. I enjoyed these a lot because I ended up going to places and events that I might not usually go to. I also realized that volunteering was something I really enjoyed. But along with the volunteering the cherry on top was the parades, coronations, and even hanging out outside of “duty time” for some girly fun with my new found friends, Annabelle and Hailey.

During the parades I loved seeing the faces of everyone (especially the little girls) as we waved to them and blew kisses. Talking to adults and about the program and what we do was really rewarding as well.

There is so much more I could talk about. I’m filled with so much gratitude and really want everyone out there to know that behind the crowns are young people in the community wanting to help, do some good, and bring the city of Eagan together.

Thank you for supporting us and this program. With a wave and kiss farewell for the last time online, this is Genesis Scott one of your 2018-2019 Eagan Funfest Ambassador saying, See ya later!

Hailey Foss

Hi my name is Hailey Foss and I’m one of your 2018 – 2019 Eagan Funfest Ambassadors my year as an Ambassador has been the best. I will now tell you about some of my favorite moments as an Ambassador.

One of my favorite coronations is the Lakeville Coronation because we were able to meet Miss Wisconsin and watch her perform a beautiful dance. I also liked the Jesse James Day Coronation because one of the cowboy volunteers took us to our seats.

One of my favorite parades was the Pepper Fest parade because we got a Pepper Fest bandana and were able to speak into a microphone to everyone that was at the parade. One of my other favorite parades was the Inver Grove Heights parade because we got to meet the St Paul Winter Carnival Princesses.

One of my favorite volunteer events was the Cub Foods bagging because we got to help people bag their groceries and help raise money for the Ambassador program. One of my other favorite volunteer events was the Bowties and Diamonds event because we got to help pass out cake to everyone that was there and take pictures in a photo booth.

How this program changed me is I am a shy person and I have learned how to speak in public more confidently, I have learned to greet and carry on a conversation with people I just met, and my confidence in myself has grown.

This is Hailey Foss signing off for the last time as one of your 2018 – 2019 Eagan Funfest Ambassadors.

Annabelle Carstens

Hi Annabelle Carstens here. I just want to recap what a great year I had being your Eagan Funfest Ambassador. It all started last May when I became a candidate. My favorite event was "Meet The Candidates" where we got to dress up and represent all the things we like to do. Coronation was an exciting night. I was very nervous! I was very happy to be picked along with Hailey & Genesis. Over the year we have meet many other royalty families and have had lots of volunteering opportunities. I love to volunteer because I get to help other people. I have made 2 really great friends, and I am thankful for that. I am sad the year is coming to an end but I am very excited for the future ambassadors, they are going to have a great time.

Thanks,

Annabelle Carstens
