Ambassadors Volunteer at Empty Bowls Event

Eagan Funfest Ambassador Lilly Briody Blogs about the Empty Bowls Event which Helps the Open Door Raise Funds to Meet Community Needs

Hello everyone! It is another one of your Ambassadors, Lilly Briody. Today I am talking about the last event we went to which was Empty Bowl at St. John Neumann. The Empty Bowl event raised money for the Open Door food pantry in Eagan. About one month ago I wrote a blog about Color Me Mine and how the Ambassadors painted bowls. Well at last Thursday’s event, they were actually selling our bowls and some of the other bowls that other people have donated and created. The people were able to come to the church and they could purchase a bowl and they could eat some soup out of it and they could take the bowl home. My mom bought a very pretty bowl, and we use it as a candy dish. The Ambassadors were in charge of refilling the water and the bread at the tables. We also had to take the dirty dishes from the people if they were done eating. We ended up running around a lot and were very busy refilling the different things at the tables for people, but we were glad to be busy because it was good to see so many people come to the event for such a good cause. The other Ambassadors tried the soup that they had and they said it was very good. This event was pretty fun because we got to see all of the other artists’ bowls and there were some that were really good! Thanks for reading! Lilly Briody, Eagan Funfest Ambassador 2015-2016
