• Dakota County approves 18.5% increase for 2027 levy (hometownsource.com) — Eagan homeowners face higher county property taxes after Dakota County approved a 2027 levy that's 18.5% above this year, even as Eagan home values are projected to rise only about 0.37%. County leaders warn that, despite the increase, they still expect service cuts and staff reductions while trying to rebuild depleted reserves and cover inflation, mandates, and social service needs.
• Metcalf demolition bids received (hometownsource.com) — Eagan residents may soon see the long-vacant Metcalf Middle School torn down, as District 191 considers a $795,000 low bid to demolish the troubled site on Diffley Road. The city has pushed for quick action after hundreds of police calls, a major fire, and serious safety concerns, while a pending sale to a housing developer remains unresolved.
