Bites Nearby: From Pizza to Burgers to Gyros, T.O.P.S. is Tops

Overview: Markos Chouliaris named the restaurant he opened in 1990 , which stands for The Original Philadelphia Style, because when he first immigrated from Greece to America he spent a number of years working along side his uncle in Philadelphia and adding to his knowledge of Greek cooking by making pizzas and Philly cheesesteaks.

Decor: This unassuming little place recently has undergone an expansion while maintaining its family-friendly atmosphere. 

Drinks: Full-size bar with daily drink specials.

Appetizers: You can find the usual cheese bread ($4.95 - $6.95) and cheesy fries ($4.50), but try the Spanakopita ($6.95) - a wonderful Greek treat made with spinach, feta cheese, chives, onions and Greek seasonings, wrapped in flaky phyllo dough and baked to golden-brown perfection. 

Entrees:

• For those wanting a lighter meal, salads include an Italian Antipasto ($8.95)  and a Greek Salad ($5.95 - $8.50)
• Four sizes of pizza range from 10- to 16-inches ($11.50 -$20.95 depending on size and toppings). Or, create your own. Want sauerkraut? No problem!
• Hoagies, burgers, cheesesteaks, wraps, gyros and spaghetti round out the something-for-everyone menu
• Sunday Brunch Buffet: 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. ($15.95; $10.95 for seniors 55+; $4.95 children under 10)

Desserts: Why decide? Go for the Mighty Aphrodite which includes traditional Greek baklava, a chewy, fudge brownie and a cupcake of your choice for $7.95.

Signature Dish: For those who have never been to Philly, the cheesesteaks at T.O.P.S are a must-have ($6.95 - $7.50 for a 9 inch half; $8.95 - $11.95 for an 18 inch whole).
