Bites Nearby: Satay 2 Go

Overview: may be easy to miss, tucked into an unassuming strip of storefronts sharing the Home Depot parking lot, but those who find their way inside will be treated to authentic asian cuisine served up fast and MSG-free.

Appetizers: In addition to their namesake Satay (skewers of marinated and grilled meats), appetizers—which range in price from $3.95 to $8.25—include spring rolls and egg rolls, lemon grass chicken wings and vegetarian-friendly fried tofu.

Entrees:

• Rice dishes are priced from $7.50 to $8.95 and include fried rice, chicken briyani, teriyaki chicken, and traditional Malaysian dishes such as nasi goreng (shrimp fried rice spiced with Indian curry and vegetables) and nasi lemak (curried chicken over coconut-flavored rice with potato, hard-boiled egg and cucumber). 
•  Noodle dishes include Cantonese chow fun (stir fried flat rice noodles covered in light egg sauce with shrimp, chicken and vegetables), Singapore rice noodle (stir fried with eggs, vegetables and bean sprouts and a touch of curry) and hokkien mee (udon noodles stir fried with shrimp, chicken and vegetables in sauce).
• Soup, including kimchee, miso and chicken dumpling, provides cold-weather warmth ($3.25 to $5.95).

Desserts: Satay 2 Go also includes an Asian bakery making fresh items daily including bbq buns, red bean buns, coconut raisin bread and curry puff pastries. 

Signature Dish: Satay 2 Go claims to offer the only okonomiyaki (Japanese pizza - $8.95 to $10.50) and laksa (Malaysian curry rice noodle soup with bean sprouts, shredded chicken breast and tofu - $8.95) in Minnesota.
