Ambassador of Eagan Funfest Reflects on This Year's Experiences
One of the 2012-2013 Eagan Funfest Ambassadors introduces herself and catches you up on what the Ambassadors have been up to around the Eagan community
Hello everyone!
My name is Meghan Harwell and I am one of the six 2012-2013 Eagan Funfest Ambassadors. This year so far has been an amazing experience, and I cannot wait to see what else is in store for the Eagan Funfest Ambassador program.
Since this is my first blog I would like to tell you a little about myself. I am 14 years old, and I am in 8th grade at Metcalf Jr. High School. I am in two honors classes, Language Arts and Social Studies. I participate in my school band playing flute. It is a fun way to learn about music and meet so many more people. I also participate in my school’s student council as secretary. I love playing lacrosse and this is my second year playing the sport. In my free time I love to draw, be with friends and have many laughs and fun times with my family.

I am amazed and honored to be an Eagan Funfest Ambassador. Since the night of the coronation, July 9, 2012, I have been incredibly excited to see what was in store for me. All the girls in my age division deserved to have their name called and a crown placed on their head. So many thoughts were going through my head when I was waiting to see if my name would be called. When the emcees did say my name I was very shocked! It has been one of the most amazing things that I have ever done! These girls that I get to share my year with have been such amazing people to be around, great friends, and a new part of my family.
Throughout the year so far we have been to other cities coronations, parades, and helping around our wonderful city of Eagan. We have also done fundraisers at Cub Foods and Davanni’s. In February we went to a local father, daughter dance. It was so much fun to see all the little girls dressed up in their own crowns and gowns! Seeing them smile when you complimented them on their hair or dresses made them, and us, smile so big! We danced with many of them, frosted cookies, made “magic” wands and tried to take as many pictures as we could!

I am super excited to see what else is in store for our last few months as an Eagan Funfest Ambassador. Thank you for reading my blog and I’ll be sure to post again soon!
