BLOG: Fifth-Grade Artist with International Lift-Off

Local 5th grade water color painter, Sky Waters, has a painting in Switzerland for the 2012 International Aviation Art Contest judging; another painting hangs in Kevin Costner's interpretive center.

Sky Waters, a local 5th grader with an eye and hand for water color and acrylic painting, has his work entitled "Silent Flight" waiting for judges at the 2012 International Aviation Art Contest in April in Luzern, Switzerland.  His piece won 1st place in Minnesota and 3rd place nationally before it recently left for Europe. With 6 years of experience and lots of inspiration, he humbly told me about another painting of his which hangs in movie star Kevin Costner's "Tantanka - Story of the Bison" interpretive center in Deadwood, South Dakota. Sky posed with two other paintings in his home art studio. Congratulations and good luck with art, Sky!
