BLOG: Local Nonprofit Chapter Supports North Minneapolis Tornado Victims

A local, hands-on effort helped North Minneapolis Tornado victims. The group raised $1,000 worth of support and relief.

Recently, a group of volunteers from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans-Northern Dakota County Chapter organized an important event.

The group, made up of mostly Eaganites, helped bring $1,000 in new household goods and dressers through Bridging Inc. to support North Minneapolis Tornado Relief. 

The first part of this effort involved a team of individuals shopping at IKEA for specific household goods and delivering them to the Bridging site in Bloomington. The items secured included pots, pans, silverware, blankets, pillows and other household items.

The second part involved the purchase of and assembly of eight dresser kits by another team of individuals.
