BLOG: Turning Beer into Food

How do you turn beer into food? Drink Finnegans, of course.

My first taste of beer was in Brazil during college. I was one of those kids who followed rules, even if you didn't have to, so I waited to drink until I was 21 and could do it legally.

Really. I did.

It was a Brazilian lager called Brahma; basically their version of Bud Light (read: light, cheap, flavorless, a little tacky).

I didn't really enjoy beer until I discovered hops, and then I fell in love with a good ale. The kind that pricks your tongue like a rich fall day; something you drink in jacket weather around a fire with good friends. I was never brand loyal, though. Any which one would do.

Until I found Finnegans

They are local Minnesota company that give 100% of their profits to local food shelves. That's right. 100%. And those local food shelves include The Resource Centers. We just received 900 lbs of fresh farm produce from Laughing Loon Farm through the Emergency Food Network and Finnegan's partnership.

And you know what's great? Their beer even tastes good.

Do good. Drink good beer. Sounds perfect.
