City Of Eagan Presents 'Community Connections'

Eagan's Community Connections is for new residents, young families, empty-nesters, and anyone who wants connect with their local community.

The city of Eagan is inviting local civic organizations, non-profits, community groups, faith communities, and more, to be part of a new event called "Community Connections." Community Connections is designed for new residents, young families, empty-nesters, and anyone who wants to have some fun while connecting with the many things the community has to offer.

Exhibitor space is limited for this March 4 event at the Eagan Community Center from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. Reservations will be accepted through Friday, Feb. 17.

A number of local service organizations have registered already, including The Open Door, which combats local hunger through access to healthy food and programs, the American Cancer Society, the YMCA, local churches and more, according to news release.

"This is about making new connections, and creating a greater sense of community among Eagan residents," Eagan Parks and Recreation Director Andrew Pimental said in a statement. "We’re going to have a substantial amount of fun too."

Already planned are a variety of games, and Eagan Television is going to have a green screen so people can see what they look like on TV. Look for the Eagan High School Jazz Band performing midday.

A number of city departments will be there too, including police, fire and public works, so residents can connect with city services or ask that Eagan question they have been wondering about.

The event is free to the public. Each community group receives its own 10 feet by 10 feet booth space, a skirted table and chairs, and an organizational sign for a $50 registration fee. The city handles advertising and promotion of the event.
