City Officials Need Nearly 500 Election Judge Volunteers
The judges will help administer the primary and general elections during the 2012 election cycle.

The city of Eagan is looking for nearly 500 willing volunteers to serve as election judges at primary and general elections during the 2012 election cycle.
In order to serve as an election judge volunteers must be eligible to vote, and be able to read, write and speak the English language. Volunteers cannot be the spouse, parent, child or sibling of an election judge serving in the same precinct or of a candidate at the election, or be a candidate in the election. This year, the primary election date is August 14 and the general election is November 6.
Minnesota law allows election judges to be excused from work to serve as an election judge without loss of pay, but the employee must provide his or her employer with a 20-day written notice. Election judges are compensated for their service, but are required to complete training prior to an election.
If you are interested in serving the community as an election judge, a position description and application are available at www.cityofeagan.com/elections or at Eagan City Hall, 3830 Pilot Knob Road. Applications will be accepted until May 25. Those with questions may contact City Clerk Christina Scipioni at cmscipioni@cityofeagan.com or (651) 675-5000.
