A special American flag will be flown from the flagpole on St. John Neumann Catholic Church’s property, 4030 Pilot Knob Rd., Eagan, starting on Memorial Day, May 26, and ending on Flag Day, June 14. The flag, which will be visible along Pilot Knob Road, was flown in an F-15E Strike Eagle aircraft on a mission over Afghanistan on April 9, 2010, as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. The flag was presented to St. John Neumann by parishioner John Mazzitello and his squadron upon their return from Afghanistan in gratitude for the support that was given to him and his squadron during their deployment by parishioners. As people pass this flag we hope that they will remember the men and women who have given their lives for their country in particular in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
