Eagan City Councilor Meg Tilley Wants Four More Years
Tilley is the second incumbent to file for re-election, following fellow Eagan City Councilor Cyndee Field's decision on Tuesday.

Both of Eagan's sitting City Councilors who are up for re-election are seeking another term.
Eagan City Councilor Meg Tilley filed for re-election on Wednesday, according to Eagan City Clerk Christina Scipioni. Earlier this week, fellow incumbent Cyndee Fields also filed for re-election.
Tilley, an Eagan resident since 1973, currently serves on the council's Communications Committee and is the council liaison to the city's Advisory Parks and Recreation Committee.

Only two seats, held by incumbents Fields and Tilley, are up for election during the 2012 election cycle. Councilors serve four-year terms.
The filing period closes at 5 p.m. on June 5 this year. The deadline to withdraw after filing is 5 p.m. on June 7, and the general election will be held on Nov. 6.

In order to file for a seat on the council, a candidate must be eligible to vote in Minnesota, be at least 21 years of age upon assuming office and maintained residence in the city for at least 30 days prior to the election, among other requirements. Candidates must fill out a filing form provided by the city and pay a $5 filing fee. Copies of the form are available at the Eagan City Clerk's office in .
