Eagan Company Makes 2018 List Of Best Midsize Employers: Forbes

EAGAN, MN — Book publisher Penguin Random House is the best midsize employer for 2018 in America, according to Forbes’ annual rankings of best employers in the country. The shoe and clothing company New Balance, along with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, L.L. Bean and TripAdvisor all made the top 10.

Forbes’ rankings were released on Tuesday and include 500 companies that have at least 1,000 employees. On the list are six companies that are based in Minnesota. The highest ranked Minnesota company on the list is Caribou Coffe, which is headquartered in Minneapolis.

Prime Therapeutics Business Services & Supplies based in Eagan also made the list.

Here are all the Minnesota companies that made the list:

• (No. 251) Ameris Bank Banking and Financial Services Minneapolis, Minnesota

• (No. 432) Lawrence Merchandising Services Business Services & Supplies Plymouth, Minnesota
• (No. 480) Christopher and Banks Clothing, Shoes, Sports Equipment Plymouth, Minnesota

Forbes partnered with market research company Statista to compile the list. Statista surveyed 30,000 people, asking respondents to rate how likely they’d be to recommend their employer to others, Forbes explains. Respondents were also asked to nominate organizations outside of their own, according to Forbes.

Penguin Random House jumped 32 spots to claim the No. 1 ranking on the list. Forbes says an entrepreneurial spirit shapes the employee experience at the company, playing a big role in recruiting as well as retention.
