Hi, my name is Lilly Briody. About one month ago I was crowned an Eagan Funfest Ambassador! So far as Ambassadors, we have gone to two coronations. One was in Hopkins for the Raspberry Festival and the other was for Aquatennial, which our former Ambassador, Kari Giles, ran for. It was so much fun to go and support Kari and also to see the other 48 girls from different cities. We also were in the Rosemount Leprechaun Days Parade. I really enjoyed the parade because we got to visit the other cities’ royalty, which is one of my favorite things to do as an Ambassador because I get to make new friends and meet other people and learn about their cities. The Rosemount parade was also a lot of fun because it was our first parade as Eagan Funfest Ambassadors. Our last event we just did was National Night Out at Open Door Pantry here in Eagan. That was one of my favorite events because I got to run the obstacle course with another Ambassador, Leah. We had so much fun doing that because the kids always came out of the obstacle course smiling and laughing. I also really liked this event because I always got to play and have fun with the kids. At the end, Leah and I fell trying to do the obstacle course ourselves and race each other, but we still had fun doing it. We also got to learn about how Open Door Pantry, which is Eagan’s food shelf, got started. It was really interesting how Open Door got started, and it also showed that there are so many people in the Eagan community that care about other people because it is mostly run by volunteers. I am so glad that I decided to try to become an Eagan Funfest Ambassador because I have learned so much already and I have really loved all the events we’ve done so far. The other girls I do it with make all of the events even more fun. I really like doing this with my good friend Ashley, but also meeting the four other girls is a lot of fun. Now that my first blog is coming to an end, I would like to say thank you for letting me have the opportunity to become an Eagan Funfest Ambassador and thanks for reading my first blog.
