Eagan Funfest Ambassadors Enjoy Old Fashioned Holiday

Hello everyone, it’s Lauren Foss, one of your 2017-2018 Eagan Funfest Ambassadors. Recently, my fellow ambassadors and I helped out at The Old Fashioned Holiday at Holtz Farm. It was a blast!

We started off making Reindeer Dust; a mixture of oats, sugar, and sprinkles. By sprinkling the Reindeer Dust on your lawn on Christmas Eve it will attract the reindeer to your home. It was so fun to see all of the kids making their bags and many of them couldn’t wait to put it on the lawn! We even ran out of sprinkles and sugar because there were so many kids! We also greeted and handed out information. It’s always so funny to see excited kids running in while their parents trail far behind.

There were so many other fun activities like roasting s’mores, a hay ride, and even holding some chickens! But we can’t forget seeing Santa which was the best part of all in my opinion. After, there were cookies and hot apple cider! May I say, the hot apple cider hit the spot in the cold weather since it was 50 degrees and windy! By the end, none of us could feel our toes! But it was worth every second, and despite the cold we had over 2,000 people walk in the door… practically doubling the attendance from the year before! Overall, I had a blast and can’t wait to attend the event next year as a guest!
