Eagan Funfest Ambassadors Stay Warm This Winter!

Hello Eagan! Once again, this is ambassador Jillian Anderson checking in on how the year is going. It seems like just yesterday we were all meeting for the first time at our candidate orientation but really with the start of 2018, it’s been six months since our coronation. Our year has brought so many new experiences and friendships that none of us could possibly imagine. Soon, we will have the privilege of meeting some candidates which is so exciting!

So far this winter we have had so much fun. We’ve had the opportunity to act as elves for the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Toys for Military Kids organization and got to pick out toys and distribute them to military families which was so rewarding. It was awesome to see the joy on kids faces as Santa gave them their present. We also got to help kids write letters to Santa as they had breakfast with their families at the YMCA during our Breakfast with Santa event. Also, we got to participate in Salvation Army Bell Ringing at Cub Foods and spread holiday cheer.

Although we have volunteered a lot lately, we also get to celebrate the amazing St. Paul Winter Carnival. At the beginning of December we got the chance to meet the Junior Royalty candidates at their chili cook-off event. Here, we got to listen to the candidates answer questions as we tasted some magnificent chili. On January 6, we said goodbye to our good friends from the junior royalty and welcomed in the new royalty at their coronation. This was very exciting because the new Junior Queen is none other than Ambassador Alumni Eagan’s Izzy Bui! We can’t wait to make memories with the new court. Later this month, we get the chance to do so as we celebrate at the Winter Carnival Coronation and Parade. Hopefully we continue to stay warm in the coming events!
