Eagan Funfest Ambassadors Watch Alumni Sparkle in St. Paul

Ambassador Aaron Kabat Describes St. Paul Winter Carnival Junior Royalty Coronation Event

Hello Eagan! It’s Aaron again. Today I am writing about the most recent event that I, and the other Eagan Funfest Ambassadors attended; The St. Paul Winter Carnival Junior Royalty Coronation.

The coronation was really enjoyable and engaging. There was a slideshow showing a lot of pictures from the junior royalty’s year (most of which were silly) and there also were performances from Klondike Kate and the Candidates for the Saint Paul Winter Carnival Queen of the Snows. The Emcees were super funny and made jokes throughout the whole coronation. We got to see all of the junior royalty roles handed down from the old representatives to the new ones. I was sad to see the two boys go out of there positions, because most programs don’t have boys, but I look forward to getting to know the two boys that filled their places.

Probably one of the most exciting things that happened was when the Queen of the Snowflakes was crowned. As you may know, Ashley McCann, the 2017 Queen of the Snowflakes from last year was from Eagan. The exciting part is that the new 2018 Queen of the Snowflakes, Izzy Bui, is also from Eagan. Two years in a row the Saint Paul Winter Carnival Junior Royalty has had an Eagan Funfest Ambassador Alumni as Queen of the Snowflakes !

After the coronation was over we spent time congratulating the new representatives and saying our goodbyes to the past ones, all while posing for many photos. We made sure to stop by the tables they had set up to look at all of the pictures that had been taken of the 2017 Junior winter carnival court during their year and to write them goodbye notes. We also made sure to get some lemonade and cupcakes before we left. It was a very fun and exciting experience.
