Eagan Man Killed In Head-On Crash In Rosemount Wednesday

ROSEMOUNT, MN — An Eagan man was killed late Wednesday in 3-vehicle crash on County Road 42 in Rosemount. Drivers from Apple Valley and Bloomington were also involved in the crash but were not injured.

Clive Christian Jorgensen, 57, of Eagan was driving a Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on Highway 55 when it swerved to avoid a box truck that was westbound turning onto southbound County Road 42 just before 7:30 p.m., according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The motorcycle then crashed head-on with a Chevy Malibu that was westbound on Highway 55 in the bypass lane. The Malibu then come to rest in the right ditch with the motorcycle to coming to rest in the westbound lane of traffic. Jorgensen died at the scene, according to MSP.

Murphy Antoine Cantrelle, 56, of Apple Valley was the driver of the truck. Ralph Whitfield Ransom, 73, of Bloomington drove the Malibu.

The Dakota County Sheriff's Office, and Rosemount and Hastings police responded to the crash.
