Eagan: Then And Now Photos [Vikings Practice Facility]

It's almost hard to remember what Eagan looked like before the Minnesota Vikings started building their practice facility here.

EAGAN, MN — In 2016, the Minnesota Vikings officially announced that after 35 years at Winter Park in Eden Prairie, the team will build their future headquarters and training facility on 44 acres of the former Northwest Airlines headquarters in Eagan.

The 200-acre total redevelopment will include office and retail space, a hotel, residential housing and public green space, thanks to a unanimous vote by the Eagan City Council to change the area’s land-use designation to mixed use.

If you drive on Interstate 494 in Eagan at all, you've probably noticed that construction on the new complex is moving at a speedy NFL-running back rate. What used to be an undeveloped wilderness is now a busy construction site, with buildings starting to take shape. Take a look at photos of Eagan from before and after construction began:
