Eagan's July 4th Funfest to Celebrate 50 Years of Fun this Summer

The Ambassadors and I attended an Old Fashioned Sock Hop with the Northeast Minneapolis Royalty on April 2nd. It was so much fun! I got to meet other royalty groups, compete in three competitions, play games, and danced. We started the evening with introductions seeing some old friends and meeting new ones including the new Junior Winter Carnival Royalty who we got to see crowned! Next came the three competitions. The first was hula hoop where I took second! Then there was a bubble gum blowing contest. Each participant got two pieces of gum and had to blow and hold their bubble. Lastly was a limbo contest. I did not participate in this, but Sylvia did and won! When you came to the event they asked for a donation of socks, and if you donated, you got tickets for games. I choose to do a game where you throw rings on the top of a soda bottles. If the ring went on the top you won the soda. I ended up with two sodas that night. Lastly, and most fun, was the dancing. They taught us a fun dance called the stroll where you formed two long lines that faced each other and did certain steps. When you got to the end you and the other person in the other line when walk in between the two lines. In the end it was a fanatic fifes night that I am sure to remember.
I also participated in the YMCA Healthy kids event April 30th, I, Lilly, and Leah helped out at the craft booth where kids got to color. I event brought a picture I colored home! It was fun to work with all the kids.
