Kevin Lovegreen Book Signing

Eagan author Kevin Lovegreen has always thrived on the excitement and wonders of hunting with his family in the great outdoors. From chasing squirrels as a child to chasing elk as an adult, the passion for hunting has always been with him, but even more, he loves telling the stories of the adventures.

Lovegreen has now written a children’s book series recounting these hunting experiences in Lucky Luke’s Hunting Adventures. His first book entitled, Lucky Luke’s Hunting Adventures: The Swamp, follows a ‘finally old enough’ Luke as he joins his family on his first whitetail  deer hunt. Readers follow Luke as morning approaches and he enters a Northern Minnesota swamp, where he finds adventure and nature at every turn in the trail.

“Hunting has given me so many gifts, time with my family and friends and a love and respect of the outdoors,” recounts Lovegreen. “These books let me share mine and my families hunting experiences and my hope is to show children the magic of the outdoors.”

The fact that young adult and children’s participation in hunting has declined since 1990 has been documented by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. These statistics were one of the reasons that Lovegreen wanted to share his experiences.

“I hope these books will help other families to keep the tradition of hunting alive,” declares Lovegreen. “I learned so much from my Grandpa, Dad and Uncles.” These books are not only great hunting stories but they bring the outdoors alive and teach some of the hunting techniques that families have passed on for generations.

Turkey Tails, the next book in the Lucky Luke’s Hunting Adventures series is coming out in the summer of 2012. Other books to follow: Monster Mule Deer and The Muddy Elk.
