Fundraiser to Help Eagan Bicyclist Nearly Killed in Hit-And-Run

The crash left the Eagan bicyclist, a father and a husband, with near-fatal internal injuries, as well as a broken back and pelvis.

Members of the community are getting together Friday to help raise funds for an Eagan bicyclist who was critically injured in a hit-and-run earlier this year.

The event will be held in Rosemount for Bryan Joas, a husband and father, who was hit while riding his bike in rural Dakota County.

The Pioneer Press reported that the "Bryan Joas FUNdraiser" will be from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at Carbone’s Pizza and Pub, 14550 S. Robert Trail.

The March crash left Joas with near-fatal internal injuries, as well as a broken back and pelvis. He was released from the hospital three months later, but Joas still has regular doctor visits.

Among the activities at the Friday event are a silent auction, prize drawings, free pizza later in the evening and live music.
