Funfest Ambassadors End Year with a Bag, Not a Bang and Embrace Winter 2016

Eagan Funfest Ambassador Ashley McCann Blogs about Cub Foods Fundraiser and St. Paul Winter Carnival Events

On January 9th we attended the Winter Carnival Junior Royalty Coronation. In this Coronation they choose three young ladies between seventh and nigh grade; the Queen of Snowflakes, the Princess of Ice, and the Princess of Snow. Last year’s Ambassadors did a fabulous job and I’m sure the new group of three will bond and do as great of a job! This royal group brings me back to a younger me at a parade watching the floats and seeing the Princess of Ice, I was so in awe. This coronation was also exciting because we had Alumni Isabella Bui competing. Even though she did not get chosen, we were all proud of her and she came out with a good attitude. The other cool thing was the parents of the selected girls were Knighted! We also got kissed by snowflakes! Seeing this coronation and slideshow made me want to try this next year after my service as an Eagan Ambassador. I told Lilly and then told her again until . . . she yelled at me (in a nice way). I will miss the 2015 Winter Carnival Regular, Senior, Klondike Kate, and Junior royal family which I have gotten to know since we were coroneted, but look forward to getting to know the 2016 family. On December 31st of last year (You don’t know how long I wanted to say that!) we were bagging at Cub Foods. All the customers were so nice and generous with donations to fund our activities in the future. The day was super fun because I got to bag with my sister Amanda. I came up with a theory of crown migration. If you separate us, we will migrate back together; because in the beginning current Ambassadors and past alumni were separated across all the lanes. By the second shift Lilly, Megan, and I were all in the same two lanes. So I concluded this means you can’t keep crown sisters apart. In summary bagging was super fun and the customers were super friendly. Thank-you to Cub Foods for letting us do this! 2015-20116 Eagan Funfest Ambassador Ashley McCann
