Great Escapes: Valentine's Day

You’ve given your teenage son money to take his girlfriend to the movies, helped your preteen daughter find an outfit worthy of her school’s Valentine's Day dance, and if you have to frost one more sugar cookie for your third-grade son’s Cub Scout Valentine’s Day party, you might just lose it and go into hiding until June.

It’s Valentine’s Day, and it seems you’ve taken care of everyone but you and your significant other. Time to reconnect over yet another pizza and movie you find on cable? I don’t think so. Patch has found the solution for you.

From 4-8 p.m. Saturday, come and reconnect with each other at the Cannon River Winery’s Valentine’s Dinner and Music event.

You will be greeted at the door with their February wine of the month, Rosella.  It's described by Kelly Beaudoin at the Winery as “a smooth and fruity semi-dry wine with aromas of ripe red berries, pear and apple."

Enjoy a self-guided tour and the gift shop full of unique wine-related items until the live music begins at 5 p.m. Michael Loonan, a local musician, will set the mood with pieces by James Taylor, the Beatles and Billy Joel, to name a few.

A buffet dinner catered by the Trophy House in Hampton, MN, will be served promptly at 6 p.m. Share a repast of baked pork loin, baby red potatoes with parsley, green beans with almonds and red peppers, a mixed greens salad with strawberries and mandarin oranges and a dinner roll. For dessert, delectable french silk truffles will be provided by Creative Confectionaire in Hastings.
