Love Your Neighbor Day, a partnership between Advent United Methodist Church and Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, gave back to the Eagan community with several events this year.
A summer blood drive on Friday, Aug. 14, collected 46 pints of blood and recruited 14 first-time donors.
On Sat., Aug. 15, a free document-shredding services event for community members through Veteran Shredding had over 150 people participating with an estimated 7,200 pounds of shredding.

This event was such a success, another free document-shredding took place on Sat. Oct. 10. That shredding event had over 67 people participate with an estimated 2,400 pounds of shredding. Monetary donations of $444 dollars and 190 pounds of supplies were collected for 360 Communities along with 225 pounds of supplies collected for The Open Door. School supplies were also collected for Northview Elementary and Rahn Elementary.
Financial assistance to help with expenses was provided by a grant from the Eagan Foundation.

It was an amazing day of giving back to the community that both churches call home.
