Medical Examiner: Eagan Teacher Died Of Cardiac Arrest
The cause of death for the Eagan High School teacher who died while running the Superior Spring Trail Race has been confirmed.

The cause of death for the Eagan High School teacher who died while running the Superior Spring Trail Racehas been confirmed by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office and released to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.
Jon Mathson, 41, of Eagan collapsed and died while running the 25KM race on Saturday, May 20. The cause of his death has been identified as natural cardiac arrest during exertion due to atherosclerotic coronary artery disease.
He had no known medical history, county officials said in a news release. Mathson was a three-time Superior Trail Race finisher.
