Ready for a road trip this summer? Maybe staying in state for a day trip is your best bet.
Financial website WalletHub ranked Minnesota No. 3 on its list of best states for summer road trips, which looked at 21 factors such as driving costs, traffic conditions, weather and attractions.
Besides Minnesota, the top five states on the list were all in the northwest, with Oregon and Idaho slightly ahead and Utah and Washington state ranking just below it. The worst state for road trips, according to WalletHub, is Mississippi.
According to the rankings, Minnesota was just 29th in driving and accommodation costs, but it ranked 16th in attractions and in the top 10 for both weather and safety conditions.
