MN Vikings Headed To Mexico City For First Time In Franchise History
The Minnesota Vikings will face a familiar NFC opponent in a historic international game next season.
EAGAN, MN — The Minnesota Vikings will play in Mexico for the first time in franchise history during the 2026 NFL season, the team announced Wednesday.
The Vikings will visit the San Francisco 49ers at Estadio Banorte in Mexico City during Week 11 of the 2026 season. The game will air on NBC's Sunday Night Football.
The matchup is part of the NFL's expanding international schedule, which will include a record nine international games across four continents, seven countries, and eight stadiums in 2026.

The 49ers were previously announced as the home team for the Mexico City game. San Francisco has played in two regular-season NFL games in Mexico, including the league's first regular-season game there in 2005.
For the Vikings, the trip will mark another major step in the team's international history.

Minnesota played two international games during the 2025 season, becoming the first NFL team to play consecutive international games in different countries. The Vikings lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Ireland before rallying to beat the Cleveland Browns in London.
The Mexico City game will be Minnesota's seventh regular-season international game and 11th international game overall, including preseason contests.
The Vikings are 5-1 in regular-season international games and 4-0 in international exhibition games.
