Patch Picks: Picnic Spots

1. Blackhawk Park

is located on Murphy Parkway, parallel to Pilot Knob Road. This park offers walking trails around its 40-acre lake. It also features a fishing pier, beach volleyball court, a playground and a canoe/kayak launch. This is a great spot in Eagan for swimming or fishing.

2. Cedar Pond Park 

is located off Diffley Road, at the intersection of Garnet Lane and Diamond Drive.  This small park features a playground,  short walking path and beautiful lake.  There is a nice viewing deck on the water's edge, providing a panoramic view of the entire lake. A great fishing spot with activities for the kids and the adults, the park also has benches and picnic tables by the paths.

3. Central Park

is located off Lone Oak Road on Central Parkway. Located right in the middle of busy Eagan, this is the perfect place to unwind on your lunch break. There are many benches located underneath the rentable pavilion, and there is a very pleasant walking trail that circles a man-made lake equipped with a relaxing fountain.

4. Carlson Lake Park

is very spacious and offers great fishing from the fishing pier. Beautiful views from the park and walking paths are perfect for a solo jog or romantic walk. There are also several benches posted around the lake to catch your breath from the trail, only to lose it again to the scenery. Set out your blanket and enjoy!

5. Cascade Bay Waterpark

is an outdoor waterpark that guarantees fun for all ages. Take a relaxing float around the lazy river, try your courage on one of the waterpark's four slides or just splash and swim in the large leisure pool. Step aside and enjoy a picnic lunch on one of the tables!
