The illegal device was confiscated and the owner of the bar was fined.

(Minnesota Department of Safety)

DAKOTA COUNTY, MN — Authorities say they have confiscated an illegal alcohol vaping machine used for inhaling alcoholic beverages from a bar in Dakota County. The owner was fined according to Minnesota law.

Police did not reveal which bar was involved Tuesday, but say they will release more details Wednesday. The Minnesota Poison Control Center and the bar owner will hold a news conference.

The bar owner purchased the device online after learning about the product from a friend at a Wisconsin bar. Officials say the bar owner, who did not know the device is illegal in Minnesota, wants to help educate those in the industry about the law.
