Ambassador Lilly Briody Encourages New Candidates to Take the Opportunity to Participate
A Reflection on My Year as an Eagan July 4th Funfest Ambassador
Hello Everyone! It’s one of your Ambassadors, Lilly. Sadly, this will be our last blog ever. But for today’s blog I will be talking about recruiting candidates! I will be very sad to be leaving the Ambassador program because I have had such a great experience, but it is time to let another girl have her chance as an Ambassador. Being an Ambassador has been such a great experience for me because before I was an Ambassador, I was a very shy person and I was not a fan of public speaking or having to go up in front of people and talk to them. After becoming an Ambassador, I am definitely more comfortable with public speaking and having to talk to people. Being an Ambassador has also exposed me to so many different things that our community has to offer. There are many different volunteer options and there are definitely things that I will keep volunteering for. Ambassador has also helped me with my schoolwork. Recently we did a fundraiser and now we have to pick a charity that we should donate the money to. I chose Can Do Canines, which is a charity I have volunteered at before with the other Ambassadors. Had I not been an Eagan Ambassador, I would have had a difficult time trying to figure out and choose a charity. Ambassador has also let me make many new friends. Some live in Eagan and others live in different cities and are from different royalty programs. I have had a lot of fun meeting some of the other girls from the other cities and getting to see their coronation. It has been fun to see the different kinds of programs, some of which are similar to ours and some aren’t. I will miss being an Ambassador very much, but I am excited for the next girl who gets the opportunity to experience all of these things that I did.
Thanks for reading all of my blogs so far and keeping up with me this year as I told you about all of the things I was doing as an Ambassador! Lilly Briody, your 2015-2016 Eagan’s July 4th Funfest Ambassador
