Remembering Eagan Investigator Killed In The Line Of Duty
Eagan investigator Louis Edward Jeska was killed at the intersection of Pilot Knob and Cliff Road in 1993.

EAGAN, MN — President John F. Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day in 1962, and the week surrounding it as National Police Week. It was established by a joint resolution of Congress, paying recognition to those who lost their lives in the line of duty.
In honor of National Police Week, Patch is remembering and paying tribute to the fallen officers of Minnesota towns and cities.

In 1993, Eagan investigator Louis Edward Jeska was killed at the intersection of Pilot Knob and Cliff Roadwhen a dump truck ran a red light and struck his cruiser. The collision knocked both cars into a utility pole, and Jeska died on impact.

Jeska worked for the Eagan Police Department for 21 years. He is survived by his wife, daughter, and two sons, both of whom work in law enforcement.
