Road Work on Duckwood Drive Overpass Begins
The final phase of the Eagan ring road will connect both sides of I-35E between Duckwood Drive on the east and Federal Drive on the west.
Work has begun in earnest on the Duckwood Drive Overpass project.
Barriers have been set in place on I-35E and excavation work will begin soon to place pylons for the bridge deck that will connect Duckwood Drive and Federal Drive.
Equipment also is in place in anticipation of the construction at the intersection of Pilot Knob Road and Duckwood Drive.

The right turn median from westbound Duckwood Drive to go north on Pilot Knob Road is being eliminated in favor of right-turn-on-red movements at that intersection.
In an effort to ease congestion in the area, there also will be a dedicated right turn lane on northbound Pilot Knob Road that will extend from Duckwood Drive to the freeway on ramp.

This work is the final phase in the city's planned ring road project, designed to ease traffic congestion along Yankee Doodle and Pilot Knob roads.
At the April 5 City Council meeting, the $4.5 million construction contract was awarded to Lunda Construction.
Eagan Director of Public Works Tom Colbert indicated that work is scheduled to be completed sometime in November.
