293 days ago, a crown was placed on my head that changed my life forever. I was crowned an Eagan Funfest Ambassador, and the year has gone fast. As my year comes to a close, I want to remember the things we have done.
My reign as an Eagan Funfest Ambassador started on July 10th, 2017. I was crowned with 3 other wonderful ladies and a gentleman. From the begging of this year, I could tell it was going to be an experience that I would cherish forever! That night, we took many pictures and met many new people who we would soon become great friends with. That night started it all, and it was nothing I will ever forget.
3 days later, we went to our first event as a group, the Hopkins Raspberry Festival Coronation. Being our first event, it was a bit scary but very exciting. We knew exactly how the candidates on stage felt, how scary it was for them. We couldn’t help but smile from ear to ear as each candidate was crowned. Afterwards, there was a ball, which we had never experienced before. It was an absolute blast!

In August, we rode on an actual float for the first time in the MN State Fair Royalty Parade. We talked with many other wonderful royalty groups, enjoyed a few rides, and even got some Sweet Martha Mays Cookies. It was a long, hot day… but definitely worth every second!
Later in January, we attended the St. Paul Winter Carnival Coronation and Parade. These were my favorite events this far! The coronation is such an amazing show. But, the crowning of the royalty definitely took the cake! They had so many amazing candidates, and it was a blast to see 5 of them crowned. In the parade, we got to carry the snowflakes right in the beginning! This was such an amazing parade, and my family and friends came to support me which made it even more special!

In March, we got the opportunity to film a video promoting the Ambassador program by sharing our experiences as ambassadors. eTV was very generous to host us, it was something I had never done before. We answered many questions and had a lot of fun!
To this point, we have had so many other amazing events, but I need to thank my lovely sponsor for all their help this year. Complete Family Eyecare is an amazing business that I personally attend and recommend to all. Their sponsorship is the reason I am here today. Without their help, this wouldn’t have been possible for me. So, thank you to them!
Overall, this year has been an experience that I will cherish forever. I have met so many new people and had so many new experiences that wouldn’t have been possible without being involved in this program. In the end, I want to thank the City of Eagan for allowing me to represent them. It has been an absolute pleasure and honor to be one of your Ambassadors.
