Vikings' Odds To Win The NFC North Have Changed Dramatically Two Games In

EAGAN, MN — The Minnesota Vikings are the betting favorites to win the NFC North two games into the 2026 season, a dramatic reversal from where the division race stood before the season began.

DraftKings lists the Vikings at +190 to win the division, according to ESPN's futures page on Sunday. The Detroit Lions are next at +215, followed by the Green Bay Packers at +265 and the Chicago Bears at +475. A price of +190 implies roughly a 34.5 percent chance, before the sportsbook's margin is accounted for.

In August, the same sportsbook had the Vikings at +510, the longest odds in the division, according to RotoWire. Detroit was the favorite at +170, followed by Green Bay at +225 and Chicago at +305. Minnesota's implied chance has roughly doubled, from about 16 percent to about 34.5 percent, while Chicago has slipped from third to last.

Two wins explain most of the move. The Vikings opened the season by beating the Packers 39-22 at U.S. Bank Stadium, outscoring Green Bay 22-0 in the fourth quarter. Carson Wentz threw three touchdown passes after Kyler Murray left with a concussion.

On Sunday, Minnesota beat the Bears 9-3 at Soldier Field. Chicago, the reigning division champion, entered as a 4.5-point favorite.

The defense did most of the work. Minnesota held Chicago without a touchdown and to 297 net yards. Jalen Redmond forced a fumble at the 1-yard line in the third quarter, and Isaiah Rodgers recovered it. Dallas Turner had two sacks, including one on Chicago's final snap. Bears quarterback Caleb Williams left the game with a right hamstring injury, and Tyson Bagent finished it.

"Whatever it took," Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said of the win.

Elsewhere in the division on Sunday, Detroit lost 41-31 at Buffalo, and Green Bay beat the New York Jets 20-17 in overtime. The Lions, Packers and Bears are all 1-1, leaving Minnesota as the only 2-0 team in the NFC North.

It is early. Minnesota went 9-8 last season and missed the playoffs, and 15 games remain. The Bears won the division a year ago, and Detroit and Green Bay are still within reach on the odds board.
